Northwest Iowa Dairy Outlooks

A local discussion of current science and issues concerning dairying in northwest iowa

The Northern Rolling Plains Ag Conference will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Wilbarger County Exhibit Building.  Registration will take place from 8:00-9:00 a.m.  Topics of discussion will include:  Herd Health Management with Dr. Bill Pinchak, Professor, Texas A & M AgriLife Research;  Cotton with Dr. Randy Bowman, Research Director and Cotton Extension Program Leader, Oklahoma State University, Shain Osborne, Assistant Extension Cotton Specialist, Oklahoma State University Cotton, and Paul DeLaune, Assistant Professor, Extension Specialist Soil Science, Oklahoma State University ;  Do I Keep My Wheat or Do I Plow It Up with Dr. David Worrall, Syngenta Seed;  Market Outlooks (Wheat, Cotton, Cattle) with Stan Bevers, Agronomist, Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service;  New Brush Control Products with Will Hatler, Ecosystem Science and Management, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service; Range Recovery with Kevin Derzpft, Range Land Management Specialist, Natural Resource Conservation Service;  Progression of Wildlife Industry in Texas from Survival to Sport with Ricky Linex, Wildlife Biologist, U.S.D.A.

There will be five Continuing Education Units offered at this event for Private Applicators.  Continuing Education Units include three General, one Integrated Pest Management, and one Laws & Regulations.  Registration fee is $25 and includes a meal and program supplies.  Producers need to RSVP by Thursday, January 24th by calling the Wilbarger County Extension Office at 940-552-5474.
