“Building margins in agriculture isn’t just about trimming expenses– its about spending money were it will yield the largest returns” says Tarrant County AgriLife Extension Agriculture Agent Fred M. Hall. “And this group of professionals will help any producer learn to selectively maximize their returns on the dollars they spend on fertilizer.” Hall continued. The program will be held on Friday, December 2 at the Tarrant County Resource Connection conference room located at 1100 Campus Drive in Fort Worth.

The Annual Central Texas Cow/Calf Clinic in Milano, Texas will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at The Milano Livestock Exchange, US 79. This Program is provided by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Milam, Robertson, Bell, Burleson, Williamson, and Falls counties. The law affects sustainable, local food producers in many ways, and farmers need information on how to deal with these concerns. Over the past three months a Williamson County Extension series has discussed a wide range of topics including: hosting on-farm events, workers and employees, selling products to larger buyers, and starting a farm.

The final two programs are set for Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 25. The programs are held at the Extension office beginning at 6 p.m. and usually conclude by 8:30 p.m.

According to the 2013 USDA Farm Income Forecast, after adjusting for inflation, 2013’s net farm income, forecast at $128.2 billion, is expected to be the highest since 1973. A return to trend yields would lead to record crop production levels and result in substantial year-end crop inventories. This would lead to higher net farm income since this measure goes beyond cash income to include the value of inventory change and other noncash items.
